Dear Class:

Thought about you once today. Hiking Diamond Head. 271 steps. Wondered about slope, rate of change, what would happen if each step was a coupla inches longer, etc. Then realized where I was, who I was with, and pushed you right outta my head. ¶ Be good.

I'm Dan and this is my blog. I'm a former high school math teacher and current head of teaching at Desmos. He / him. More here.

  1. We English-teacher types would have been focused on “the journey is the destination” rambling, allowing the 271 steps to be far less efficient — perhaps even an off-tangent trajectory at any random moment in search of poetic license.

Oh, and spent a lot of time musing about the view at the end.

How was that crazy view atop Diamond Head, Dan?
