These Are A Few Of My Favorite (Recent) Things
July 12th, 2012 by Dan Meyer
- Math Mistakes, a project from Michael Pershan, who's also killing it on the blog-front lately.
- Geometry Daily, "a new minimal geometric composition every day," each one worth framing and hanging alongside the hunting trophies at dy/dan manor.
Keep it up, everybody.

Thanks, Jason! :)
Idea stolen shamelessly from Michael, of course. So brilliant!
These are both awesome resources! As well as the physics one. Thanks for the great tips
Kelly, maybe we should start a Teaching Mistakes site next.
Oh, wait. Somebody already made that.
I agree, these are great resources and I had a fun time going through these.
I plan to use the Math Mistakes website with my students – great idea!
I really like the mistakes website as a way to draw attention to larger conceptual misunderstandings that persist.
Students go through and if they make a mistake in Algebra:
1/(x+1)=1/x+1/1
they often get told they can’t do that.
but they don’t get an explanation of when f(a+b)=f(a)+f(b)
